Lengow is now compatible with Amazon’s VAT calculation service

To make it even easier for our merchants to manage their product catalogue on Amazon, Lengow is now compatible with two programs offered by the marketplace: Seller Fulfilled Prime and VAT Calculation Service. These programs are available on our platform via our APIs. Following last week’s blog where we walked you through Lengow’s API to create your labels to ship your orders, this week we show you how to issue your invoices under the Amazon VAT Calculation Service (VCS) program.

What is the VAT Calculation Service program?

Amazon’s VAT Calculation Service (VCS) program allows sellers to access a number of services on the marketplace, such as VAT calculation and invoicing, and the option to display your prices excluding VAT to e-commerce professionals.

By subscribing to this service (registrations are validated by Amazon), you automatically become an Amazon Business seller and obtain a VCS quality badge, assuring Amazon users (individuals or professionals) they will receive an invoice from you.

This service is particularly recommended for B2B e-commerce activity with Amazon Business in the UK, France, and Germany

Note: Amazon sellers must provide Amazon with a valid European Union VAT number to be eligible for this service.

Amazon VCS or Amazon VCS light… what’s the difference?

Amazon’s VAT Calculation Service means the marketplace generates the invoices for you, available from Amazon Seller Central, and then makes them available to your customers.

With Amazon’s VAT Calculation Service light (Amazon VCS light), you are responsible for generating your invoices. This allows you to maintain control over your billing template. These invoices must then be sent to Amazon, as well as to your customers within 24 hours of your orders being shipped.

Lengow is also compatible with Amazon VCS light

If you use Amazon VCS light, please note that this service is also connected to our platform via our Order API

Via an API, Lengow retrieves the data of your orders placed on the marketplace. This data is then made available to you so you can generate invoices. Once your document is ready, you can upload it (in PDF format) via our API to send it to Amazon who will check its validity.

NB: this action requires the intervention of a developer.

Note that e-commerce CMS’ cannot natively manage the settings required to perform these new actions. Therefore, this program is not implemented on our modules Prestashop, Magento, Shopify, Shopware, Woocommerce, etc.
