Hi Nikki, could you present Wunderman Thompson Commerce?

We inspire growth for ambitious brands. Brands everywhere face the challenge of growth. This is hard to achieve in the ever-changing, complex and uncertain world of rising consumer expectations and disruptive technology. Brands need to move at the speed of culture. Wunderman Thompson is a growth partner – part agency, part consultancy, part technology company. We are the commerce experts within the Wunderman Thompson group and we inspire growth by applying inspiration everywhere across the consumer journey. Our inspiration is borne of bringing creativity, data and technology together.

Being the commerce experts in our group, we combine strategic clarity, technical know-how and data-driven creative inspiration to make a big impact through the development and delivery of winning commerce strategies across digital channels: Amazon and other marketplaces, online retail, D2C and social. We build inspiring commerce journeys, e-commerce technology globally and deliver multichannel impact.

Everything we do is focused on inspiring your customers to act, and to transact. Everything we do is to help make your commerce strategy successful.

Why did you choose to partner with Lengow – what’s the strategy?

We can not only advise our clients how to do it, but also build solutions that help clients actually achieve their growth ambitions.

Teaming up with partners helps us to deliver complete and innovative digital solutions for our clients. We are very committed to working with our partners – globally more than 50 – to create inspirational, future-ready services that address real-world business challenges and opportunities.

With Lengow we can work together on an international scale in building thought leadership, inspire our clients where to take their next steps in eCommerce and bringing their products closer to their customers. Additionally, we can not only advise our clients how to do it, but also build solutions that help clients actually achieve their growth ambitions. Together we cover the complete organization of people, processes and technology that sets our clients right up for success.

We’ve co-written a white paper on marketplaces, could you share your opinion on this channel with us?

You need to be where your customers spend their time, and customers are spending time on marketplaces.

You need to be where your customers spend their time, and customers are spending time on marketplaces. Whether you are in B2C or B2B, or in fashion, retail or any other vertical, customers spend their time in marketplaces. The pandemic has only accelerated this trend. Being visible on marketplaces is now more important than ever.

Our whitepaper brings a solid overview on why businesses should sell via marketplaces (spoiler: because your customers are buying there). It also gives hands-on tips on how to start small and quickly scale up; how you can boost international sales on marketplaces. The overview of European e-commerce markets and their potential, and the overview of the most popular marketplaces around the world give really great insights.

You will speak at Lengow Day on the 1st of October. Could you tell us more about it?

The keynote is titled ‘Marketplaces: Windows to the New World‘. Big players are fighting for the attention of the customer, and marketplaces are winning that fight. This trend is called ‘interface imperialism’, the ambition to own every touchpoint in the customer journey. The war on customer attention is first taking place at the screen interface. Marketplaces are great in developing new interfaces to attract customer attention, for example, Amazon Alexa, a voice interface. Programmatic CommerceTM is already here (appliances order products automatically) and many other interfaces. In the future, humans will be using outer space as an interface. Most of these innovations are driven by marketplaces.

The keynote is all about these innovations, connecting offline and online commerce more and more; the Windows to the New World.
