On 1st July, Lengow celebrated its ninth birthday. Since Lengow’s launch in 2009, we have been striving to improve our platform in order to provide all merchants with the opportunity to become more widely known on the international scene. Let’s have a look back on a year filled with a wealth of meet-ups and projects!
As you know, the international market has been an integral part of Lengow’s strategy since its launch, and we strive on a daily basis to contribute to the success of merchants in their international expansions, on both a technical and strategic level.
That’s why every year we bring together the international e-commerce ecosystem at our annual event, the Lengow Day. Here, specific perspectives are addressed, as with “Go Beyond”, the 6th edition of Lengow Day to be held on 27 September, where merchants will be invited to look further ahead and to think bigger when it comes to the expansion of their businesses.
Throughout the year, our teams also travel the globe to meet merchants in order to support them with growing their businesses on a global scale. In addition to the usual international conferences that our teams participate in (Ecommerce Berlin, One To One Monaco, eShow Barcelona, NetCommForum, Dmexco, Ecommerce Expo, etc.), since last year, we have also been organising Lengow Connect events all around the world.
As Lengow Day’s little brother, Lengow Connect brings together key players in the global e-commerce ecosystem. It is an opportunity for participants to discover the latest market trends, and to discuss and share with speakers and partners who are experts in their field, with these events held in European capitals and cities.
Following the success of the first edition of Lengow Connect in 2017 in Munich, having opened our offices there earlier that year, in 2018, we decided to repeat the experience in Munich, this time in partnership with Stylight and Tradedoubler, as well as in Shenzen – in partnership with JVWeb – and in Milan, in partnership with Filoblu. We are planning to do some in other cities very soon.
These last twelve months have been replete with excellent meetings, introductions and meet-ups. We had the pleasure of welcoming new customers to our platform, such as Maison du Monde, Banana Moon and Bodum. New partnerships have also been established with key players in the e-commerce sector.
To meet our customers’ expectations and to ensure we remain aligned with the market, the past few months have been defined by a number of improvements that we have made to our platform. For example, our teams have developed a new Magento 2 plugin, which is compatible with versions 2.0 and 2.2 of Magento, enabling our customers to easily export their product catalogues from their online stores.
Our platform has also been further enhanced with the addition of two new Lengow applications for users of our platform, including “My Custom Channel”, which enables the creation of fully customisable structures, and “Color Finder”, for creating a new “colour” field directly within a product catalogue, for all distributors.
By continuously listening to the market, we are equally aware of the significance of social networks and the omnichannel in merchants’ growth strategies, but also of the brands, with which we are increasingly working. That’s why we have been working on optimising our feeds for “Product Ads” and Google “Local Inventory Ads”.
Of course, all these projects would not be possible without our 110 employees, who every day work towards ensuring Lengow’s success. With more than 10 nationalities across our Nantes, Paris and Munich offices, we greatly value and cultivate the collective. This year, this was reflected in the implementation of two internal challenges focussed on collective intelligence. In the first quarter, an escape game was organised onsite at our premises. Taking place over lunchtime, the Tic-Tac Challenge, as it was called, helped to strengthen employee relations.
The very first edition of the Lengow Creative Days was also held, which allowed staff members to meet over a two-day period in order to work on projects that were either internal or external to Lengow. This was also an opportunity for us all to meet up in order to celebrate Lengow’s anniversary.
Since our door is always open to new talent, don’t hesitate to visit our careers page.
We have come a long way in nine years! I have gained a lot through Lengow over the last nine years, both professionally and personally.
That’s why I would like to thank all those who have helped us throughout those nine years. Thank you to those who believed in us from the very beginning. Thank you to our customers for their trust and loyalty, with some of them with us since our inception. Thank you to our various partners for believing in our potential. Thank you to all our employees, who continue to contribute to Lengow’s success in overcoming its human and business challenges, and without whom none of this would be possible. Thanks to the VC for accompanying us on this adventure. And, finally, thank you to all the people from both near and far, who have contributed to our success on this wonderful adventure that we have now been on for nine years!
Happy Birthday, Lengow!
