At the start of this year, Lengow was awarded ‘Bronze Partner Status’ by the bol.com marketplace, cementing our partnership. Counting 12 million clients in the Netherlands and Belgium, bol.com can be considered the region’s largest domestic marketplace.* Laurent Deckx, Senior Business Development Manager for France at bol.com, presents the marketplace and gives his exclusive tips to increase sales on their platform.
Hi, yes, of course! I’ve been working at bol.com for nearly three years. I started out as Market Manager for Electronics, then as of 2021 became the Business Development Manager for France. We are the major stakeholder in our market, with a domestic market penetration of more than 60%.** But what makes us stand out is the personalised service we offer to both our customers and sellers, with account managers, individual growth plans, and more. And we don’t charge registration or subscription fees.
We are a domestic marketplace with domestic consumers, and local expertise is very important to us. At the same time, so we can offer our customers a complete and competitive range of products, we aim to partner with a few select quality European sellers from beyond Belgium and the Netherlands. So there is a small selection of ‘international’ sellers. For this reason, those sellers who wish to join our platform must meet certain requirements, which are:
