Case Study: International Online Expansion Through Marketplaces


Founded in 2014, efectoLED is a company dedicated to the sale of technical LED lighting in Spain, Portugal and France.

The company’s goal was to open new online sales channels such as marketplaces and various acquisition channels across several European countries, until the company had a significant presence in almost the entire continent.

Before working with Lengow, efectoLED worked solely through its website.

The need to find a tool like Lengow arose when the company wanted to start selling on marketplaces, and more specifically Amazon and eBay, which had arrived in Spain a few years earlier.

efectoLED was quickly confronted with the technical realisation that each channel they intended to integrate required a different data structure. For a company that had only been in operation for a year with limited resources, this was an additional effort.

In 2015, efectoLED contacted Lengow for a demo of the platform, which quickly convinced them that it met their needs and offered everything that the brand expected.

The integration with the system in use at efectoLED at the time was very simple, without any technical knowledge being necessary. Like many e-commerce sites, efectoLED was working with Prestashop. It only took a short time to install the Lengow module and connect to the platform.

The brand currently distributes its products on Amazon, eBay, ManoMano, Fnac, Privalia, Darty, Carrefour, Allegro, Cdiscount, Worten, KuantoKusta, Ubaldi, El Corte Ingles, Google, Facebook, Pinterest, ePrice, Leroy Merlin, across France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Poland.

Setting up new channels is easy and with automatic rules all imaginable configurations can be created to facilitate the distribution and improve the visibility of the products.

Thanks to the customisation and optimisation offered by Lengow and the time savings that this allows, we are able to develop across all channels and achieve results in a relatively short time, without having to worry about the continuous technical changes to the channel.
